The Cape Town Iron And Steel Company is situated in Kuils River, Cape Town and is an old and well established local business that produces steel rods for construction for export. Quality Filtration Systems (QFS) recently approached me to do an industrial photography shoot at a new water filtration plant they had installed at Val de Vie Estate outside Paarl. They are in the business of water filtration and are the people who are going to be installing the water desalination plants Cape Town desperately needs. It was a pleasure working with this neat company that does such essential work.

Kimberley Engineering Works

I had the chance to be an Industrial Photographer again recently when I visited Kimberley Engineering Works, which is an old Kimberley business going back over a hundred years. They are in the heavy engineering business and specialize in mine headgear most of which is exported. I have often wondered what goes on in the big buildings there so it goes without saying that I jumped at the opportunity to have a look. I could not resist the black and white conversion that seems to really work.
