I was approached a while back to do an interview with Beautiful News, an online publication sponsored by Mercedes Benz that tells good news stories about South Africans. It was all to do with a bird shoot I did a while ago in the Northern Cape. I was amazed by what this professional team of dynamic young people doing such good work.

I was fortunate enough to be chosen to photograph a Good Hair Day (GHD) promo at Tygervalley recently. It was a lot of fun over two days of shooting meeting tons of people and of course getting to take their photographs.
The Cape Town Iron And Steel Company is situated in Kuils River, Cape Town and is an old and well established local business that produces steel rods for construction for export. Entering the huge premises is an almost surreal feeling and to witness the huge furnace and molten metal forming process is something special. Here are some photos from that experience.
Some photos from the first round of the Western Province XCO championship held over the weekend at Coetzenberg. World champ Nino Schurter was there, no doubt getting in some feel for the track that will host the World XCO championships in March.
The guys at Scheckter’s Organic recently contacted me about doing a shoot for one of their marketing campaigns they have just launched. We spent an enjoyable day shooting and filming around Table Mountain, Kirstenbosch and Blouberg.
They subsequently made this wonderful video all about me and my photography that I am blown away with.
Thanks guys, you are seriously cool.

Thank you once again!
I have never been white shark cage diving and to be quite honest the thought terrified me. Last week however we stumbled upon the place where it all happens.
Just beyond Gansbaai is a place called Franzbaai where all the boats and different operators line up.
The weather was foul and it was a Sunday so there were no boats operating but we got to see them up close all lined up. Some of them are really impressive and these guys know what they are doing.
Maybe one day!
I recently read in a local newspaper that this coming Saturday the famous Shackelton at Ysterplaat Air Force base was going to start up and run it’s engines. As it was just down the road and I had nothing on that Saturday morning I decided to attend with camera in hand. There was a big turnout, obviously lots of old air force dudes, but lots of enthusiasts even foreign. It was a wonderful experience and to hear those engines revving at full steam like that was something extraordinary. Sadly the old girl has not taken to the air in a few years but could be made airworthy again I am sure. It was the last flying Avro Shackelton 1722 Mk111 up until then. Anyway a thoroughly entertaining morning that included a walk through the plane as well as a visit to their aircraft museum.
On a recent country trip we came across some delightful scenes in the Tulbagh area. We had spent the long weekend at Beaverlac and had done lots of hiking but were on our way back to Cape Town. It was raining delightfully (although our windscreen wipers were still not working) which gave the whole green area an amazing look and vibrancy. Here are some pics from the weekend.
I was recently hired to do a product photography shoot for a company that sells nail and beauty accessories. I set up a little studio on their premises with my portable lighting and that was all we needed to get some amazing product photos. During the editing of the photos I had to remove the background in some of the photos (deep etching) and that took quite a long time to do as it is quite a laborious task.
I hope they sell tons and tons.
