Joey and Maria’s eloped Cape Town destination wedding.
Joey and Maria both hail from Toronto in Canada and contacted me after deciding to elope during their planned holiday in Cape Town. They both come from big families of Italian descent and decided they would rather have a quiet ceremony on their own then the traditional large wedding that was expected back home (of course once everybody back home found out they almost immediately set out organizing a large bash for their return).
On the Rocks Restaurant in Bloubergstrand was the venue for their beautiful wedding on a cool and cloudy Saturday morning. Everything went off smoothly and they were married before any of their families back home had any idea. After taking some lovely photos around Bloubergstrand we headed for the amazing Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens where we had to sneak in (no wedding photography allowed) and shoot some amazing photos at various locations in the beautiful gardens.
We were scheduled to go up Table Mountain for a sunset shoot later in the day but the weather had turned foul and the wind was pumping so we rescheduled for Monday that turned out to be the perfect day for such a shoot as there was not even a breath of air at the top of Table Mountain.
