I was the photographer on a recent Rally to Read program in the Northern Cape courtesy of Anglo American. The event involves volunteers from all over the country driving to all the rural schools in the area and handing out reading material to encouraging reading. The whole idea behind the enormous effort put in by major corporations like FNB is to eradicate illiteracy. If a child cannot read or write then what chance do they have.
